Advanced Structural Characterization In Porous Materials

Designing mesoporous functional materials requires a very high level of control on matter organization. Bottom-up approaches are based on the mastering of intermolecular interactions in order to transfer the molecular architecture of precursors to the final material. The detailed analysis of the structure of matter, from its early complex liquid stage to its final ceramic shape, allows us to make sure that the preorganization of precursors is eventually transcripted in the desired functional material, and to adjust the process until the objectives are met. This approach is at the basis of our scientific activity, associating advanced matter characterization tools and physical chemistry for functional materials design.
